Radio Talk Show Producer/ Board Operator

Position Summary
The Radio Talk Show Producer is responsible for the daily planning, organization, and execution of a live talk radio program. This role works closely with the Program Host and on-air team to develop compelling content, manage show flow, and ensure a high-quality broadcast that engages listeners on-air and across digital platforms. This position also plays a key role in guest coordination and interaction, requiring a professional, welcoming, and organized approach that reflects positively on the program and the station.
Schedule
- Part-time position
- Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM
- 25 hours per week
Responsibilities
This is an in-studio position and is not a remote/work-from-home role
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Program Host to plan, develop, and execute daily show content
- Conduct research on current events, local stories, and trending topics
- Coordinate and schedule interviews with guests, community leaders, and subject matter experts
- Manage the program’s Outlook calendar, including guest bookings and show scheduling
- Maintain strong guest engagement before, during, and after appearances, ensuring a positive and professional experience
- Represent the program and station with the highest level of professionalism in all guest and public interactions
- Screen phone calls, interact with listeners, and manage live call-in segments
- Write show outlines, segment teases, and on-air copy as needed
- Operate broadcast equipment, including mixing console and basic automation systems
- Assist with board operation and overall studio production during live broadcasts
- Produce social media content to promote the program, including posts, clips, and audience engagement
- Collaborate with digital teams to extend show content across platforms
- Assist in producing promos, commercials, and other audio content
- Support remote broadcasts, station events, and special programming initiatives
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in radio, media production, or a related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of current events, especially local news and community issues
- Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, live broadcast environment
- Familiarity with audio editing software (such as Adobe Audition) and broadcast systems
- Basic understanding of social media platforms and digital content creation
- Ability to multitask and maintain organization in a daily live show environment
